M.2 SATA / NGFF Compatibility

The UGREEN 10903 is designed for:

M.2 SATA / NGFF SSDs

This is important because M.2 describes the physical form factor, while SATA and NVMe are different storage protocols.

Supported SSD Protocol

M.2 SATA / NGFF

Supported Key Types

• B-Key SATA
• B+M-Key SATA

Supported SSD Sizes

• 2230
• 2242
• 2260
• 2280

Important NVMe Compatibility Note

The UGREEN 10903 is not intended for:

M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs

For catalog accuracy:

• M.2 SATA / NGFF: Yes
• NVMe / PCIe: No
• mSATA: No
• 2.5-Inch SATA SSD: No
• 2.5-Inch HDD: No

Do not confuse this model with UGREEN's newer NVMe enclosures, which may look very similar but use a different controller and protocol.

Up to 5Gbps USB Transfer

The enclosure supports a theoretical USB interface rate of:

Up to 5Gbps

This is suitable for compatible M.2 SATA SSDs and is much faster than legacy USB 2.0 connections.

Maximum USB Interface Rate

5Gbps

Actual file-transfer speed depends on:

• Installed SSD
• Host USB Port
• USB Cable
• File Size
• Operating System
• SSD Health
• Temperature
• File System

The 5Gbps figure is the interface's theoretical maximum and should not be treated as guaranteed SSD read/write speed.

USB-C Enclosure Connection

The UGREEN 10903 uses a:

USB-C Port

on the enclosure.

Enclosure Port

USB-C

Included Host Cable

USB-A to USB-C

This allows it to connect directly to computers with a standard USB-A port.

USB Bus Powered

The enclosure receives its power through the USB connection.

External Power Adapter

Not Required

Power Method

USB Bus Powered

This makes it suitable for portable use without carrying an additional power supply.

Plug and Play

The enclosure is designed for:

Plug-and-Play

operation on supported operating systems.

Dedicated Driver Required

No, in normal supported configurations

A new or previously unformatted SSD may still need to be initialized, partitioned, and formatted before it appears as usable storage.

Operating System Compatibility

The enclosure is suitable for compatible:

• Windows PCs
• macOS Computers
• Linux Systems
• Other USB Host Devices Supporting External Storage

Compatibility with TVs, routers, consoles, and other devices depends on their USB storage and file-system support.

Important B+M-Key Note

A B+M-Key connector does not automatically mean the SSD is compatible.

Some B+M-Key drives use the SATA protocol, while others may use different interfaces.

For this enclosure, the installed SSD must specifically be:

M.2 SATA / NGFF

not NVMe.

Important M.2 vs mSATA Note

M.2 SATA and mSATA are different physical formats.

This enclosure supports:

M.2 SATA / NGFF

It does not support traditional:

mSATA SSDs

Important SSD Not Included Note

The UGREEN 10903 is an:

Enclosure Only

An SSD is not included.

A compatible M.2 SATA / NGFF SSD must be installed separately.

Important Speed Note

The maximum USB interface speed is:

5Gbps

This does not mean every SSD will transfer files at 5Gbps.

Real-world performance is limited by the SSD itself and the connected host system.

Important USB-A Cable Note

This configuration includes:

USB-A to USB-C

for the host connection.

If the computer has only USB-C ports, a suitable USB-C host cable or adapter may be required.
