Up to 2,000 MB/s Read & Write

The SanDisk Extreme PRO combines NVMe SSD technology with a high-bandwidth USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface to deliver extremely fast portable-storage performance.

Performance

• Sequential Read: Up to 2,000 MB/s
• Sequential Write: Up to 2,000 MB/s
• Interface: USB 3.2 Gen 2x2
• Interface Bandwidth: Up to 20Gbps
• Connector: USB Type-C

This makes the drive suitable for:

• Large video transfers
• High-resolution photography
• 4K video projects
• Creative workflows
• Large backups
• Professional media libraries
• Gaming storage
• Moving large project files

Actual performance depends on the host device, USB controller, cable, file size, workload, and other operating conditions.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 – 20Gbps

A major advantage of the Extreme PRO is its USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, which provides theoretical interface bandwidth of up to 20Gbps.

This enables the SSD to achieve performance approaching 2,000 MB/s with compatible systems.

Important Compatibility Note

To reach the advertised speeds, the connected computer must support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps).

When connected to slower USB interfaces, the drive remains usable, but transfer speeds will be limited by the host connection.

1TB Storage Capacity

The 1TB capacity provides substantial portable storage for:

• 4K video footage
• High-resolution photos
• RAW photography
• PC games
• Professional projects
• Graphic-design assets
• Video-editing files
• Music libraries
• Documents
• Portable backups
• Creative assets
• Large multimedia files

Actual usable formatted capacity will be lower than the advertised 1TB.

Rugged Portable Design

The SanDisk Extreme PRO is designed for users who frequently carry important data between locations.

Its rugged construction provides:

• Water resistance
• Dust resistance
• Drop protection
• Impact-resistant design
• Improved grip
• Additional protection during travel
• Suitability for field work

This makes it particularly useful for photographers, videographers, and creators who work outside traditional office or studio environments.

IP65 Water & Dust Resistance

The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD provides IP65-rated water and dust resistance under specified testing conditions.

IP65 Protection

• IP6X: Protection against dust
• IPX5: Resistance against water jets

This adds extra protection when carrying the SSD during travel, photography, outdoor shoots, and professional field work.

The SSD is water-resistant rather than waterproof, and resistance depends on proper use and actual environmental conditions.

Up to 3-Meter Drop Protection

The Extreme PRO Portable SSD is designed to withstand drops of up to 3 meters under specified conditions.

This provides additional protection against accidental drops while:

• Traveling
• Working on location
• Carrying camera equipment
• Moving between workstations
• Recording outdoors
• Transporting important projects

Drop resistance does not guarantee protection against every possible impact.

Forged Aluminum Chassis

The Extreme PRO uses a forged aluminum chassis that combines durability with thermal-management benefits.

The enclosure helps:

• Protect internal components
• Improve physical durability
• Dissipate heat
• Maintain sustained performance
• Provide a premium professional design

A silicone shell adds further protection and provides additional grip during portable use.

USB Type-C Connectivity

The SSD features a USB Type-C interface, providing a compact and reversible connection.

The package typically provides:

• USB-C to USB-C cable
• USB-C to USB-A adapter

This provides connectivity with a wide range of compatible modern and traditional USB systems.

Maximum performance requires an appropriate USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection.

256-Bit AES Hardware Encryption

The SanDisk Extreme PRO supports 256-bit AES hardware encryption with password-protection functionality through supported SanDisk software.

This can provide additional protection for:

• Business documents
• Professional projects
• Client files
• Personal data
• Photos
• Video projects
• Portable backups
• Sensitive files
