UGREEN CM101 Micro HDMI to HDMI VGA Converter (40744)

UGREEN CM101 HDMI to HDMI + VGA Converter – 4K HDMI, 1080p VGA | 40744

Description

The UGREEN CM101 40744 HDMI to HDMI + VGA Converter is a multi-output video adapter designed to connect an HDMI source device to either a modern HDMI display or an older VGA monitor/projector.

It features an HDMI female output supporting up to 4K@30Hz, a VGA female output supporting up to 1920×1200@60Hz, a 3.5mm audio output, and a Micro-USB 5V power port. The HDMI and VGA outputs are selectable alternatives and cannot be used simultaneously.

Important naming note: Despite some listings calling it “Micro HDMI,” the 40744/CM101 uses a full-size HDMI male input, not a Micro-HDMI video input. “Micro USB” refers to its 5V power port.

HDMI Input to HDMI or VGA Output

The CM101 is designed around this signal direction:

HDMI Source → UGREEN CM101 → HDMI Display OR VGA Display

Connections

• Input: 1 × HDMI Male
• HDMI Output: 1 × HDMI Female
• VGA Output: 1 × VGA Female
• Audio Output: 1 × 3.5mm
• Power: 1 × Micro-USB 5V

This makes it useful for connecting HDMI-equipped PCs, laptops and other compatible sources to either newer HDMI displays or legacy VGA equipment.

HDMI Output – Up to 4K@30Hz

The HDMI output supports higher-resolution digital video.

• HDMI Version: 1.4b
• Maximum HDMI Resolution: 4K × 2K
• Maximum 4K Refresh Rate: 30Hz
• 3D: Supported
• Audio + Video: Supported

For Full HD and 4K office, presentation and multimedia applications, the HDMI output provides a direct digital connection.

VGA Output – Up to 1920×1200@60Hz

The VGA output provides compatibility with older monitors and projectors that do not have HDMI.

• Maximum VGA Resolution: 1920 × 1200 @ 60Hz
• 1080p @ 60Hz: Supported
• Signal: Video only

Because VGA does not carry digital audio, the adapter includes a separate 3.5mm audio jack.

3.5mm Audio Output

The integrated 3.5mm audio port allows audio to be sent separately when using a VGA display.

It can be connected to compatible:

• Speakers
• Headphones
• Amplifiers
• Audio systems

This is especially useful with VGA monitors and projectors that cannot receive audio through the VGA connection.

Micro-USB 5V Power Port

The converter includes a Micro-USB 5V power input to provide additional power for stable operation.

• Power Port: Micro-USB
• Voltage: 5V
• Function: Adapter power
• Micro-USB Power Cable: Listed as included by UGREEN Türkiye

The Micro-USB connection is for power only, not video or data.

HDMI & VGA Cannot Be Used Simultaneously

This is an important limitation of the CM101.

You can use:

HDMI Output

or

VGA Output

but not HDMI + VGA simultaneously.

Therefore, this adapter should not be marketed as a dual-monitor splitter.

30cm Integrated Cable

The converter features an integrated HDMI input cable.

• Cable Length: 30cm
• Adapter Dimensions: 65 × 45 × 16mm
• Color: Black

Its compact size makes it convenient for laptop bags, meeting rooms, classrooms and portable presentation setups.

Important Compatibility Notes

The UGREEN 40744 is HDMI source → HDMI/VGA display. It is not designed to convert a VGA source into HDMI.

Also, its maximum HDMI output is 4K@30Hz, so it is not suitable for 4K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz, or other high-refresh 4K gaming applications. For VGA, the maximum listed resolution is 1920×1200@60Hz.

Why Choose the UGREEN CM101 40744?

• Converts an HDMI source to either HDMI or VGA output.
• HDMI supports up to 4K@30Hz.
• VGA supports up to 1920×1200@60Hz.
• Dedicated 3.5mm audio output solves the lack of audio transmission over VGA.
• Micro-USB 5V power input helps provide stable converter operation.
• Supports both modern HDMI displays and older VGA monitors/projectors.
• Compact 30cm integrated-cable design is convenient for portable use.
• The combination of 4K HDMI, Full HD/1920×1200 VGA, separate audio output and legacy-display compatibility makes the UGREEN CM101 40744 a useful adapter for mixed HDMI/VGA environments.
