• Braking
• Shooting
• Variable Trigger Input
• Racing Games
• Action Games

Redragon describes the Hall triggers as providing precise, fast response with a linear feel.

500Hz Polling Rate

This means the controller can report input to the connected device at a high frequency, helping provide responsive control during fast-paced mobile gaming.

Polling Rate

500Hz

Macro Support

The G817 also supports:

Macro Functions

Redragon documentation confirms programmable macro functionality, allowing compatible commands or combinations to be assigned for easier access during gameplay.

Expandable Mobile Design

The G817 uses a telescopic / expandable body designed to hold a smartphone between the left and right controller sections.

Up to 173mm

This allows the controller to accommodate a wide range of modern smartphones.

Important Phone Case Note

Physical compatibility depends on:

• Smartphone dimensions
• Case thickness
• Camera bump
• USB-C connector position
• Device shape

A thick protective case may need to be removed before installing the phone.

Android Compatibility

The Redragon G817 officially supports:

Android

Game compatibility still depends on whether the individual Android game or streaming service supports controller input.

iPhone Compatibility

Redragon lists the G817 as compatible with:

iPhone 15 and Newer

This corresponds to USB-C-equipped iPhone generations rather than older Lightning-based iPhones.

Compatibility

• Android: Yes
• iPhone 15 Series: Yes
• Newer Compatible USB-C iPhones: Yes
• Older Lightning iPhones: No direct USB-C compatibility

USB-C Charging Support

The G817 includes a:

This can help keep a compatible smartphone powered during longer gaming sessions.

Actual charging speed can depend on the smartphone, charger, cable, connection mode, and power conditions.

For catalog accuracy, use:

Hall Effect Triggers: Yes

Do not automatically list the analog thumbsticks as Hall Effect unless the exact unit/specification confirms this separately.

Important Weight Note

Some G817 listings reproduce a weight specification of 5g, which is clearly inconsistent with a complete telescopic mobile controller of this size. Another official Redragon regional listing specifies approximately 160g.

For catalog accuracy, I recommend not publishing the 5g weight.
