USB 3.0 High-Speed Connection

The KIWI design Link Cable uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) technology with a theoretical data transfer rate of up to 5Gbps.

KIWI design states that when used with Quest headsets, actual measured connection bandwidth can typically reach around 2.5–3.2Gbps, depending on the PC configuration.

Connection

• PC Side: USB-A
• Headset Side: USB-C
• Interface: USB 3.0 / USB 3.2 Gen 1
• Maximum Interface Speed: 5Gbps

For best performance, KIWI design recommends connecting the cable directly to a USB-A 3.0 or USB-A 3.1 port on the gaming PC.

PC VR Gaming

The cable allows compatible standalone VR headsets to connect to a gaming PC for access to PC VR content.

Typical Setup

Gaming PC USB 3.0 → KIWI design Link Cable → Meta Quest / PICO Headset

This allows compatible headsets to access PC-powered VR experiences, provided the computer meets the required VR hardware and software requirements.

Meta Quest Compatibility

The 10FT Link Cable supports:

• Meta Quest 3
• Meta Quest 2
• Meta Quest 1
• Meta Quest Pro

Current KIWI design listings also include Quest 3S compatibility for this Link Cable family.

PICO 4 Compatibility

The cable is also compatible with PICO 4, allowing the headset to connect to a compatible gaming PC for wired PC VR applications.

10FT / 3M Length

• Length: 10FT
• Approximately 3 meters / 305cm

The extended cable provides additional movement compared with short USB cables, which is especially important for standing and room-scale VR gameplay.

Right-Angle USB-C Connector

The headset-side USB-C connector uses an L-shaped / right-angle design.

This helps:

• Route the cable alongside the headset
• Reduce cable protrusion
• Reduce strain around the headset's USB-C port
• Improve cable management during movement

KIWI design specifically describes the right-angle connector as a headset-friendly design intended to route the cable along the headset.

Cable Clip Included

A cable clip is included to help secure the Link Cable to the headset or strap.

This helps:

• Keep the cable organized
• Reduce unwanted cable movement
• Reduce pulling around the USB-C connection
• Improve comfort during active VR gaming

Specifications

These core specifications are confirmed by KIWI design's current Link Cable documentation and the exact 10FT/3M product listing.

Important Charging Note

This cable should primarily be considered a high-speed data / PC VR Link Cable, not a charging cable.

KIWI design's current guidance says the standard Link Cable is optimized for data transfer and does not support Power Delivery. In particular, a standard USB-A connection may not supply enough power to keep a Quest 3 charged during demanding VR gameplay.

If simultaneous high-speed PC VR and stronger charging capability are required, a dedicated charging Link Cable is more appropriate.

Important PC Requirement

The Link Cable does not make a standard computer capable of running PC VR games by itself.

The connected PC or gaming laptop must have:

• A compatible USB 3.0/3.1 port
• Suitable CPU
• Compatible gaming GPU
• Sufficient RAM
• Required Meta/PICO/SteamVR software
• Hardware capable of running the selected VR game

Best For

• Meta Quest 3
• Meta Quest 2
• Meta Quest 1
• Meta Quest Pro
• PICO 4
• PC VR Gaming
• Gaming PCs
• Gaming Laptops
• SteamVR
• Wired VR Gaming
• Room-Scale VR
• High-Speed VR Data Connection
